Text: John 6:52 – 71; 12:4; 13:2; 13:26
Intro: There are a lot of imitations in the world today. We have
imitation butter, imitation leather, imitation diamonds, and even
imitation salt. Mat. 5:13 “Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the
salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is
thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden
under foot of men.” To imitate means to appear or be like… Resemble.
I. Look Like The Real Thing
Mat. 7:15 – 23 “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s
clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. 16Ye shall know them
by their fruits. 21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall
enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my
Father which is in heaven. 22Many will say to me in that day, Lord,
Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast
out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23And then will
I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work
iniquity.

C. We need to realize that when a person gets saved God cleans from
the inside out!

A. They Sound Super-spiritual
B. They Try To Impress Others
C. They Glorify Themselves Instead Of God
III. Act Like The Real Thing

1. When It’s Convenient
2. When There Is Nothing Else To Do
3. When They Feel Like It
B. They Put A Dollar In The Plate
1. Like The Pharisees
2. Sounding Their Trumpet
C. Some Even Teach A Sunday School Class
D. Some Hold A Position In The Church
1. Deacon
2. Trustee
3. Treasurer – Like Judas
E. They Go Through The Motions
IV. They Are Not Real Christians, They Are
Imitators!
