HOW DOES YOUR GARDEN GROW?

Text: ISAIAH 5:1-7

Why does God expect a good vineyard?

I - Because of the QUALITY of the plants {vs 2}
-Before we were saved we were dried up and withered plants uncapable of bring forth any fruit
-After we were saved God made us new! 2 Cor 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

II - Because of the SITUATION of the plants {vs 1}
-God planted in a good spot
-We live in a nation full of abundance and privilege
-We have freedoms like no other nation to worship, and preach the gospel
-We have prosperity like no other nation

III - Because of the CARE he gives to the plants {vs 2} Read Job 1:10
-A garden is fenced in to keep the predators out
-God protects us from the flesh, the world, and Satan
-We have His Word to fight back with Eph. 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

-He gathers the stones out
-Obstacles rise up in our lives as stones in the ground
-God helps us with those obstacles

-He puts a tower in the midst of His garden
-God is with us all the time keeping watch over us

IV - God expects fruit at the RIGHT TIME! {Psa 1:1-3}
-In times of prosperity God expects the fruit of GRATITUDE
-In times of affliction God expects the fruit of PATIENCE & TRUST
-In times of sickness God expects the fruit of PRAYER
-In times of worship God expects the fruit of ATTENDANCE
-In times of opposition God expects the fruit of STEADFASTNESS
-In times of trial God expects the fruit of FAITHFULNESS & VICTORIOUSNESS
-In times of need God expects the fruit of PRAYER
-In times of confusion God expects the fruit of BIBLE STUDY
-In times of temptation God expects the fruit of FLEEING FEET
-In times of opportunity God expects the fruit of WITNESSING
