Got Purpose?

Text: Acts 11:23 “Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord.”

Introduction: The question that God is asking this morning is: do you know what your purpose for living is? After God saves you he gives you a brand new heart. A heart for God, a heart to please God, a heart to serve God.

In order to effectively minister, Christians must establish priorities for their lives. We must first be committed to Christ, then to one another in Christ, and finally to the work of Christ in the world.

I. Be Committed to Christ
A. Purpose in Your Heart
If life is to have meaning, and if God's will is to be done, all of us have to accept who we are and what we are, give it back to God, and thank Him for the way He made us. What I am is God's gift to me; what I do with it is my gift to Him.
B. Put Him First Place On Your List of Priorities
Mat. 6:33 “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
C. Keep Him At The Forefront of Your Activities
Romans 8:28 “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

II. Be Committed to One Another
A. Brotherly Love
1. Want the best?--give your best.
B. True Concern
C. Support

III. Be Committed to the Work of Christ
A. Church Attendance
1. God tends to use the one nearest him.
B. Ministries
C. No one can help everybody, but everybody can help someone
D. God chose the poor and the few to do his work because the rich and the many, being preoccupied, refused him
E. Financial
