Labor of Love
Text: Luke 2:41 - 52
Introduction: God’s work is never done. There is always something that
needs to be done in the church. There is always someone that needs a
helping hand. There are lost people all around us that need Christ.
There are children all over that need to be taught the Word of God.
There is so much to be done. We all must be about our Father’s
business. This labor day let us concentrate on our labor or lack of,
for God!
1 Cor. 3:9 “For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s
husbandry, ye are God’s building.
I. We are Laborers!
The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; 38Pray ye
therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers
into his harvest. Mat. 9:37,38
Should be a Labor of Love.
A Sacrifice of Time, Talent
We’ll work till Jesus comes - song
II. We are Laborers Together!
Like a Team to accomplish more.
Unity, oneness, human chain locked together, a bond
Must have the same goal in mind to work together
In the Church
All Churches which are the body of Christ
Like a well oiled machine
III. We are Laborers with God!
A Partnership
God is the Leader, the boss
We are not left alone to do his work, He is always with us.
I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. 6So that we may boldly say,
The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.
Heb. 13:5,6
We must be about our Father’s Business!
Like Jesus, he set the example
To receive our just reward, our pay day.
The labourer is worthy of his reward. 1 Tim. 5:18
To show our love for our Saviour.
Conclusion: Who do you work for? How much time do you put in? Is it
enough? God wants you for his service!
