Love Was Born

Text: 1 John 4:16 - 19 “And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.”

Intro: During this Christmas Season we need to be reminded of the true meaning of Christmas and the reason for it.

What Is Love?
Agape = Sacrifice, Unselfish, Giving (charity)
God Given or a gift from above
Rom. 5:8 “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
More Than A Feeling!

Where Did Love Come From? The Holy Trinity
It Was Born – Jesus’ Birth
Rom. 8:39 “Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
A. Fruit of the Spirit
B. Gal. 5:22,23 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”
The Father Giving His Son – John 3:16

II. How Do We Love?
A. By Accepting God’s Love Gift - Salvation
B. By Loving God
C. By Giving of Ourselves
D. Not Words But Deeds


III. What Is The Result Of Love?
A. God’s Love Flowing Through Us
1. Rom. 5:5 “And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.”
B. People Are Blessed
C. God’s Will Is Done on Earth
D. People Are Saved



Conclusion: Love was born here on earth. Has it came into your heart? If it has people will know it, without even being told, I love you.
