Salvation, The
First Step
Text: Romans 1:16 “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for
it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to
the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
Intro: So many people do not understand what it means to get saved.
The salvation experience is different for each individual. There is
not any certain way that it happens. It is a lot like planting a
garden. Only God knows how each seed we plant in the ground will
produce.
I. Prepare The Ground – Luke 8:5 - 15
A. Break up the fallow ground - Heart
B. Remove the weeds - sin
C. Remove the rocks - selfishness
II. Plant The Seeds Right
A. Depth – Church, Bible Study
B. Temperature – Hot or Cold – Not Like-Warm
C. Good Soil – Bible Teaching Church, Sunday School, Sunday Night,
Wednesday Night
III. Water The Seeds
A. 1 Cor. 3:6,7 “I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the
increase. 7So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he
that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.”
B. Moisture Makes Them Grow – Holy Spirit
C. Die Without Water – Wither Away – Back Slide
D. The Water Must Get Into The Hard Shell Of The Seed – Conviction Of
Old Habits – cursing, jokes, racist comments, drinking, lust
E. The More Water The Seed Gets The Deeper The Roots Grow – Mature

A. Bears Fruit – Leading People To Christ
1. Pointing People To Christ
2. Inviting People To Church
3. Giving Out Tracts
B. Sometimes After Pruning
1. To Get Our Attention
2. To Motivate Us
3. To Cleans Us
C. If It Does Not Produce Fruit It Is Removed
1. Sometimes Put On A Shelf
2. Sometimes Taken To Heaven
