"A Father You Can
Trust"
Text: Mat. 6:1-8
Introduction: As we celebrate Father's Day today I would like for us
to remember our Heavenly Father. He is worthy of all of the praise and
glory we can give Him. He is the absolute best father that there could
ever be. He truly is a father that we can trust.
I. He Is A Rewarder - Heb. 11:6
"…he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him."
A. Perfect Judge - 2 Tim. 2:4 Henceforth there is laid up for me a
crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall
give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that
love his appearing.
1. Always right
2. Never wrong
A. Perfect Gifts
B. Chastens His Children because He Loves Them
C. Perfect Compensation
II. He Is Trustworthy - Prov.
29:25 "The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust
in the LORD shall be safe."
A. Never let you down
B. Never forgets what you need
C. Always meets your needs
1. Spiritual
2. Physical
3. Prov. 3:5,6 "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not
unto thine own understanding. 6In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he
shall direct thy paths."
III. He Always Tells Us How We Can Please Him - 2 Tim. 3:16 "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is
profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction
in righteousness: 17That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly
furnished unto all good works."
A. His Word Never Changes - He is the same yesterday, today, and
forever!
B. The Written Word -
1. Cuts For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than
any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and
spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the
thoughts and intents of the heart. Heb. 4:12
2. Divides - Denominations, Families, Churches
C. For Today - 2 Tim.4:2-4 Preach the word; be instant in season, out
of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and
doctrine. 3For the time will come when they will not endure sound
doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves
teachers, having itching ears; 4And they shall turn away their ears
from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
IV. He Is Always There to Listen -
1 John 5:14 "And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if
we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: 15And if we
know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the
petitions that we desired of him."
A. Good Listener
B. He Always Hears Us - Never hard of hearing
C. Never too busy!
D. He knows what you need more than you do
Conclusion: You need to trust your Heavenly Father this morning!
