A Passion For Souls

Text: Romans 10:1 - 10

When we read the 10th chapter we find something of the great heart of Paul, who loved the Lord Jesus with such passion. "Brethren, my heart's desire . . ."

I. What is your heart's desire?
A. He didn't say," My heart's several desires,"
B. He said "My heart's desire."
C. I have one desire, says Paul.
D. I have one consuming passion, says Paul.
E. I have one thing that I want above everything else, says Paul
F. One great thing I desire above every thing else.
G. I've never seen anybody like the Paul of this Book, so I want to know what his heart's desire is and we would do well to copy this man.

II. "Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God . . ."
A. Whenever we have a real desire, we go to God
B. Because He fulfills desires!
C. My heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they might be saved."
D. His heart's desire was for the salvation for souls.
E. His heart's desire and prayer was that others might know the Lord.
F. He had a consuming passion for two things:
1. To know Christ
2. To make Him known.
3. That was the motive in His life.
4. That was the thing that consumed this great man.

III. He had a purpose.
Proverbs 11:30 “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.
Psalms 126:6 “He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.”
A. He had a passion.
B. He had a high interest.
C. His heart was in the salvation of souls!
